What to do with $50,000....

As some of you already know, my father passed away earlier this year. Its taken some time, but I've gotten over it. Life goes on.

The thing is, in the next few months I will be recieving my inheritance. It will be about $50,000, and I'm really starting to ask myself what to do with the money. I know for sure that I will be upgrading my pc, buying a video camera (I forget the name, all I know is it records in dvd quality) and maybe a laptop.

Thats all going to cost me anyway, I know.

But I will still have a bit of money left. What should I do with that?

Option 1: I have been invited, for a year, to a friend in Ecuador. This could be cool. I have never been to south america before, AND I could get away from this shitty little town for a while.

Option 2: A friend of mine and I have been talking for years about opening a erotic website. Nothing pornographic, mind you, just pretty girls being sexy. And trust me, I know enough pretty girls willing to stand in front of a camera. If the money is right, of course :)

Option 3: For years, I have had this daydream of making a horror movie. Yes, I know, movies tend to need more than 50 grand to make, but we are talking b-movie, indie movie and so on here. The problem is the amount of people I would have to work with, I hate big crowds. Oh well. It would probably suck, anyway.

Option 4: And talking of daydreams, yes, I HAVE even thought about "wasting" it in whorehouses, stripclubs, casinos, hotels, motels and drug and crime infested neighborhoods. Man, that would be a fun day.

Option 5: I do the smart (pussy) thing, and put it all on the bank. If I'm lucky, I might even get 5 or 6% interest. Thankfully, I'm so bad at math that I have no idea what that gives me by the time I get it back.....


So, thats it. I'm not rich, but money is money. Its gotta be used for something. Thats what money is for.

So, any tips?

Well is yoru car reliable?.. maybe a down payment ona house? i;ve been to brazil.. if you get in the wrong areas of south america that is trouble!.. nto a good idea.. rough governments.. i dunno i;d say invest it in stocks or something.. turn it into something.. wasting it on computers and digicams and dvd players is kinda silly... use it for what you really need. but the ebst thing you could possibly do withthe money is put it in yows bank account lol yes that would be the best thing... well whatever you choose hope it helps.. lost my brother abotu ayear ago.. talka bout rough..

that's alot of money... I'd buy a house and rent it out, that way I'd get a $600 dollar a month check for however long, and you can spend that on hookers and blow. I wouldn't buy anything like a boat though, people buy ski boats and always end up losing on the deal. Sorry about your lose.

I have been looing for houses or apartments to buy and rent, but I dont think I'll find a good deal.

That car is my passion. I know it sounds manly but i'm in love with that car! And the mean thing is, when I go to school every day I drive past this blue mazda mx-5 EVERY DAY. It is SO frustrating hehe.

i'd say use some of it to buy the computer/electronic stuff you want and use all that new equipment to start the website. that will be good income.

with the rest invest it - the bank, a condo, a small house, whatever. you'll be happy you made that choice later on.

Well, I met with my friend Markus last night. We discussed the idea of starting a paysite, and made a decision.

That decision was yes. We will start an adult website. I'm investing 10,000, Markus 2,000. Most of that money will go into buying equipment, cameras, objectives, lights and so on.

It wont be porno or anything vulgar. It will go in the direction of fetish/bondage, but it wont be the main theme. Basicaly, I just love the female body. Who doesnt?

I'm meeting some girls on friday, I'm pretty sure I can get a few of them to play along.

Thankfully, Markus has enough experience making webpages, and he knows a lot about security and so on. He is also very good with a camera, and I'm not that bad either.

i haven't read past the first page, but definately invest in a house. it's better than putting it into a bank. realty is the SMARTEST thing anyone can get into. houses can double in sale value in 15-20 years... or less. and you will basically NEVER have to really worry about money again.

ok, that's not always entirely true, but if you think about it.. if you have your house fully paid off in say 10 years(assuming you use the entire 50k, 20k down payment and 30k paid upfront it shouldn't be hard if the mortgage is like 600 a month), if you purchased the house for 100,000... after ten years you could sell it for 160,000+ and then purchase your next home for about 200,000+.

you could continue to do this until you retire. then with your retirment plan and pension(assuming you will have these). you will never have to worry about money.

i'm no expert, and i just guessed on these figures... but i don't think i'm far off.
